Where it works

Bardiglio Imperiale, room by room

Floors
Polished for a formal living room or a lobby; honed where there is grit underfoot or a doorway open to the monsoon.
Walls and cladding
Run as large calm panels behind a bed, a reception desk or along a corridor.
Bathrooms
Vanity tops, shower walls and floors, sealed and wiped dry where water stands.
Staircases
Treads and risers cut to size, with the vein running the same way on every step.
Kitchens
Counters and splashbacks for a cook who wipes lemon and wine as they go; a honed finish hides the etching a dropped lime leaves on a high polish.
Showpieces
A temple niche, a console top, the panel behind a bar.

Care

Bardiglio Imperiale is a calcium stone: seal it after installation and again every year or two, clean it with a pH-neutral stone soap, and wipe up lemon, vinegar and wine rather than leaving them to etch the polish. Felt pads under furniture and a doormat at the door do more than any product. How to care for natural stone →

Questions about Bardiglio Imperiale

What is Bardiglio Imperiale?

Bardiglio Imperiale is marble from Italy, with a grey tone. It is a crystalline limestone, which is why it takes a mirror polish and why acids etch it. Flora Marble imports it as blocks and slabs and cuts and finishes it at its own factory at Athal, Silvassa.

Can Bardiglio Imperiale be used on a kitchen counter?

Yes, with the care marble asks for: wipe lemon, vinegar and wine as you go and keep it sealed; a honed finish hides the etching a dropped lime leaves on a high polish. Many of our clients put Bardiglio Imperiale on the island and a harder stone on the working run.

What finishes and sizes does Bardiglio Imperiale come in?

Bardiglio Imperiale is supplied polished as standard, honed or leathered on request, as full slabs, cut-to-size, book-matched pairs, typically 18–20 mm; other thicknesses on request. Slab sizes vary lot to lot, so we send the measurements and photographs of the actual slabs before anything is confirmed.

Where can I see Bardiglio Imperiale slabs?

Stocked slabs stand to be seen at the Flora Marble gallery in Vile Parle East, Mumbai, a few minutes from the airport (open mon–sat, 10 am – 7 pm); a catalogue stone is sourced to order and shown to you before you commit. Every slab is cut and polished at our own factory at Athal, Silvassa, where buyers are welcome.

Does Flora Marble deliver Bardiglio Imperiale to Jaipur?

Yes. Bardiglio Imperiale leaves the Silvassa factory by road for every state in India, Jaipur, Lucknow and Kochi included, crated and strapped for the journey. Each city has its own page with the road distance from the factory and the Mumbai gallery and how an order from there usually runs.

How is Bardiglio Imperiale priced?

Per project, slab by slab: the slabs selected, their sizes, the finish and the cutting all move the figure, so there is no list price online. Send the drawings or the areas and the finish you have in mind and Flora Marble will quote the Bardiglio Imperiale it would select for you, with photographs of those slabs.
